I’m originally from Mississippi, moved to eastern Kentucky to attend seminary, and now I’m back in Mississippi! I am a United Methodist pastor, currently appointed to two churches in Southwestern Mississippi. I’m a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, where I earned a Master of Divinity degree, and a graduate of Liberty University, where I majored in Religion. I have additional associate degrees from Meridian Community College (Broadcast Communications) and East Central Community College (Paramedic Science). I was commissioned as a Provisional Elder in the Mississippi Annual Conference in 2018 and ordained an Elder in Full Connection in 2022. In one form or another, I’ve been serving in pastoral ministry since 2012.
I am married to Jessica, who graciously puts up with me. Together, we have one daughter who’s with the Lord and one adopted daughter from the foster care system. We’re in the process of adopting two other children from foster care. I love to read, study theology, and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I also love learning as much as possible about the world in which I live. My newest hobby is amateur radio (callsign: W5JDQ).
I don’t fit in the typical boxes of conservative or liberal. I’m told that I’m too liberal for some and too conservative for others. I consider myself a moderate and make decisions on where I stand based on the situation itself, not what other people say I should think about it.
I would love to connect with you. Find me on Facebook, and Instagram.
